Can one really have too many favorite craft projects of all time? I think not. This is one of many of my favorite projects I've ever made.
I say ours but as I was working on the prototype for this set Huck was invited to a little girl's 4th birthday party very last minute. I quickly finished up the set with a little bag in a Princess and the Pea pattern from Heather Ross' Far Far Away line. I also printed out the one page Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, rolled it into a scroll and tied it with pretty ribbon to go inside.
I hope she liked it. We have no idea because it was one of those parties with so many guests and gifts that present opening would have been a logistical nightmare so it was done later with just the immediate family. I don't mind that a bit but I am always a little nervous about handmade gifts. Some people just think that sort of thing is a little odd and I didn't really know these folks.
Anyway, I liked it and will definitely be making one for Jemima when she's old enough not to just try and eat it. I may also try a few other play sets like this with some of Huck's current favorite stories.
