HYSTERIA Opens on May 18TH, 2012
US premiere April 23rd at The TriBeCa Film Festical in New York City.
I call it MY MOVIE but, of course, as with any film, HYSTERIA is many hundreds of people's movie now. The director's, the producers', the financiers', the actors', the grips' and gaffers' and all the fabulous people in the wardrobe department's, too. And so many others.
But there was a time when it was just Stephen and I sitting in front of a blank computer screen in Idaho trying to figure out how to turn a good idea into a full length feature film. Oh, and to make it funny and good enough to hook talented actors and get financed. The producer and director who brought us the idea had a lot of faith in us and I like to think that we delivered.
This Spring we'll all find out, won't we?
HYSTERIA is romantic comedy set in Victorian England about the doctor who invented the first electric vibrator. It stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy, Jonathan Pryce, Rupert Everett, Sheridan Smith, Ashley Jensen, Gemma Jones, and many other notable British actors and was directed by our long-time friend and creative partner, Tanya Wexler.
